Really Finished!

I finished school Wednesday night! I now have my MFA in Writing degree from the University of New Hampshire. I can't believe it's over and that 2.5 years have passed. It's crazy that it's been that long, but it's over and done now. That means I can finish up the new novel that I started a few months ago and get to editing that (and publishing) and I can focus on writing new things.

I've also made a decision: When I take down "A Starter Boyfriend" from FictionPress (likely when I finish up my new novel and send it out), I will re-post "Hostile Kisses" because I've had a handful of people request it. It will still be a while (maybe summer or early fall) before that happens, but at least it will give a few people something to look forward to. :)

  1. I love Hostile Kisses, I do... Daisy and Adam <3

But I've been requesting the Killing series for...donkey's years. Am I ever going to be able to read it again? Please. I really want to read some Estella/Moo/Caleb/Adam.

  2. You're one of a few who have asked for the KM series to come back. I've heard you, trust me. I just can't post them all! I need to find a more secure way of sharing my work than fictionpress! :)

  3. Ahhh! I just saw this and THANK YOU SO MUCH!
I love Daisy, I love Adam!
...but, like Sammy, I miss Stela and her insanity. Sometimes, I'll be thinking about what to read and I always wish your KM series was around.
I know you know about Authonomy.Com, could please just maybe consider that site? It's run by a legit publishing house (and I reallyreallyreally miss Stela and Caleb and Moo and Jeremy).

  5. A few? Only?

And colleen explained it perfectly, the KM series is one of those books that you can pick up again and again, and still find hilarious.

    I really really miss it.

Your KM teaser just isn't enough, if anything I ended up missing it more.

  6. Thanks Colleen!

Sammy, yeah those chapter snippets really are teasers. I should probably take them down and find something new to post. I don't know why I'm so hesitant to re-post all of my stories. I took them down to pursue publishing and I went for a MFA degree instead. Maybe it's only right that I put them back up until I'm 100% sure that I'm going to work on them. Colleen, you're right about authonomy.com, at least it's a bit more legit. I wish I still had faith in FictionPress because I owe a lot to that site and to the readers who found me there.

I just worry that publishers/editor/agents will be upset if any drafts were published anywhere (and website publications count). The only upside to that is that I'd likely edit them heavily before submission. Ahhhh! I'm really going to think about this. I promise.

  7. Since HK is really part of the KM (or at least has a lot to do with it), what about posting each KM for 2 months or so?
I know that doesn't completely solve your publisher/ editor/ agent issue, but since they would be removed after a time AND you want the stories to be heavily editted, this could be way for readers to have Stela back for a bit!
Obvs, you're the author and complete controller of the KM universe, but I thought this might be a fun solution to everyone's wants.
