School's OVER!!! (almost)

Hey everyone,

So, I'm completely finished with my classes for my MFA degree. Next stop: thesis. I'm putting together a short story collection compiling most of the work I did while in school, so it's mostly about revision (with maybe one or two new stories added). I'll defend my thesis to a panel of faculty in December and will be done before Christmas. My biggest hope for after this time is that I'll be able to devote more time to my past stories and fall in love all over again with my characters. I feel like this program has changed me, which is scary. I do think that the old Tatiana Moore is still there though--hopefully the writing will just be better.

I have been toying around with starting a completely new project after I'm all finished. A teen/YA novel about angels/demons (time to move off the vampire thing, though don't get me wrong, I LOVE that stuff). But who really knows what I'll be inspired to work on. Moo and Es are poking at me though--ahh, there's just so much work to be done for that first story.

Anyway, thanks so much for following my blog! Stay tuned for more

  1. Congrats on finishing your classes!! Honestly, school makes you grow and on one hand that's a good thing 'closer to being able to survive on your own' on the other hand you don't know if you've lost what makes you, you, lol.

That project sounds like it would be cool, especially since the whole angels/demons thing can be interpreted however you want it too, or you can stay with the 'known' facts, lol. And all though I haven't read any of your work in a while, obviously, lol, it'll be interesting to see how you take on the concepts of angels/demons.

I honestly don't really have much to say, LOL, I was trying to think of an author who created an 'insecure' heroine who was still likable and relatable throughout the series without feeling weak and you popped into my head so I just wanted to see how everything was with you and if you were still writing.

    Good luck with everything!

  2. I'm definitely still writing... I just haven't been able to work on these stories in a while. Every day I think about the angel/demon thing a little more and was almost tempted to start on it today, but alas... no words on the page yet. I can't wait for more time to write. Thanks for your comment! :)

  3. Hey, I wouldn't worry about your program changing you, if it has, it's most likely for the better. I understand the sentiments though...I've become a visual snob. I envy you for finishing your degree....

  4. Sorry, I went to the autonomy site that you refered because I read that you would be posting there your story of the 'A starter boyfriend' but I can't find it. Is it still there?
    Thank you very much (:

  5. Hi Emme,

No, I actually took that story down a few months ago. It was up there for about six, I think, maybe more. I'll let everyone know when I repost it (or better yet, get working on publishing it).

    :)t
